About

Welcome to my blog, where I share my insights and reflections on the topics of AI and philosophy. I have a diverse and rich background in engineering, science, and management, which has shaped my perspective and approach to these fascinating fields.

I started my career journey with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, where I learned the fundamentals of design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems. I then pursued a master of science degree in advanced materials, where I explored the properties and applications of novel materials for various engineering purposes.

My passion for research and innovation led me to pursue a doctorate in complex thermodynamic and physical system modelling of quantum-macro relationships. This was a challenging and rewarding project that involved developing mathematical models and computational simulations to understand the behavior and interactions of quantum systems at macroscopic scales.

After completing my PhD, I worked as a consultant in engineering modelling, power systems, and asset management for several clients across different industries. I gained valuable experience in applying my technical skills and knowledge to solve real-world problems and deliver practical solutions.

In 2021, I became the leader of physical asset management for South Australia’s state owned and leased asset portfolio, where I oversaw the planning, maintenance, and optimization of the state’s infrastructure and resources through to 2022. I enjoyed working with a diverse and talented team of professionals who were, and are, committed to improving the quality and efficiency of state government services for the population of South Australia.

Relocating back to the United Kingdom in 2023 following a health scare I have since pursued my own ventures and like to read, write, and think about AI and philosophy. I am fascinated by the questions and implications that arise from the development and use of artificial intelligence in various domains of human activity. I am also interested in exploring the connections and contrasts between AI and human intelligence, ethics, creativity, and consciousness.

This blog is a platform for me to share my thoughts and opinions on these topics, as well as to engage with other curious minds who are interested in AI and philosophy. I hope you find something here that sparks your interest, challenges your assumptions, or inspires your imagination.
